Reiki in my tree house

A JAPANESE HEALING SYSTEM IN AN ANCIENT CORNISH WOODLAND

I have been practising as a Psychotherapist for 23 years, having followed a Western training and I am a member of British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.  I am also a Reiki Master and Teacher, following the Japanese tradition of Dr. Mikao Usui  the developer of Usui Reiki, nearly a century ago.

My tree house, "Rainbow's End", is in an idyllic setting, providing peace and quiet, comfort and stillness as well as a sense of deep calmness and ease.  It provides the opportunity for meditation and practice, having a massage table and a therapeutic ambience, without the possibility of interruption or distraction, except from the birds or wildlife! Those who come seeking Reiki may find they  experience  a deeper  stillness  than mere relaxation   during   the  sessions,  partly  because  of  the  nature  of   the   therapy,  but  also  because  of  the

extraordinary quality of the light, the pure air and the views from the tree house. Whilst there is also a more conventional, but self-contained consulting room in my house, "Rainbow's End" is set deep within three acres of woodland. It is a wonderful tree house, made of oak and supported by three oak trees. You climb up the spiral staircase to find yourself transported onto a calm, magical platform in the middle of the woods - you stand on the decking, from where you can see nothing but nature and the old Great Dowgas Mine chimney stack towering above - you go through the double doors into the tree house, complete with leaded windows, wood-burning stove and seating for about twelve people. The woodland is full of wild flowers, badgers, rabbits, stoats, foxes...............and  peace!

"Rainbow's End" is the perfect venue for all of my work. The need for “breathing space”, as well as a place to rest and refresh mind, body and spirit is something  we all need. There is also a  Mongolian  Yurt  at  the entrance to the woods.

Reiki healing can take us to a deeper level of clarity and renewal and may ease pain and allay fears and anxieties, as well as providing a greater sense of well-being. The treatment is done through clothing and may be given whilst seated or on the massage table. It is not always necessary to provide a hands-on approach to the treatment - rather, the hands may gently hover above the patient’s body.  Treatments generally last for between a half and one hour

Reiki attunements are also offered at level 1, 2 and Master/Teacher.  Those who decide to become Reiki practitioners will spend a full day for levels 1 and 2, and two days for the Reiki Master/Teacher attunements.  Lunch and refreshments are provided and there is a functioning 'Porta Loo' in the woodland.

I have been working with these strategies since my own severe and life-threatening illness in 2003.  I regularly received Reiki whilst in hospital and went on to make a total and unexpected recovery.
